In the Infra-Red welding process, the surfaces of the parts are heated to melting temperature by infrared radiation. Infrared energy is transferred by convection, which depends on conditions of the environment, geometry, radiation and materials involved. In this process, heating takes place without contact and, on reaching the ideal temperature, the parts are joined together and cooled, characterizing the welding.
